This course will provide the participants with the basic knowledge on diving related medical emergencies and the role of a first aider when managing a casualty. The course is based on the SS511 standards and is a 2 day course.
The course content would include topics such as:
- Basic Science related to Diving Emergencies
- Neuro Assessment
- Diving related traumas
- Decompression Sickness
- Barotrauma
- Aural and Dental Barotrauma
- Oxygen Toxicity
- Narcosis
- Marine Animals that are hazardous
- Resuscitation with medical devices
- Management of related diving emergencies
- Medical Devices used in the management of dive related injuries.
