Overview

This course targets learners providing Emergency Medical Support who seek to supplement their understanding of special situations for those working at sea and in maritime environments.

Objectives

Topics covered to enhance the knowledge and skillsets of those operating and working in maritime environments include: Extrication and Trauma management on board vessels, managing Diving-related injuries, understanding maritime environmental hazards and injuries, addressing specific medical conditions on board vessels and managing mass casualty incidents.
Topics can be contextualized to the candidates’ requirements.
Minimum entry requirements
Must be First Aid Trained
Must be Basic Cardiac life Support Trained
Physically fit to conduct chest compression and casualty carry
Able to understand English
This is an SSG-funded course and can be integrated with the EMT course
